About this event

Join colleagues from across the NEL Faculty for a visit to Frida: The Making of an Icon at Tate Modern. This major exhibition explores the life, art and legacy of Frida Kahlo, examining how her experiences of trauma, identity and creativity shaped her work. We're delighted to be joined by Dr John Launer – renowned author, educator and former GP – who will provide a thought-provoking discussion paper exploring Frida Kahlo's life and work through the lens of trauma and the medical humanities. After the exhibition, you're welcome to continue the conversation over a self-funded dinner at Brasserie Blanc, Waterloo, featuring an informal Q&A with Dr Launer. Attend the exhibition, the dinner, or both – we look forward to an inspiring afternoon of art, reflection and professional connection.
